Surely for the benefit of the quality of our club football, players need a rest. Surely Fifa/Uefa's pockets are deep enough and football is on almost every night in some form as it is. Sky and BT are both too expensive. Something has to give.
I'd personally like to hear from Mick McCarthy thinks about all this? For my bad English sorry. I'm from Uganda. Uganda.
This is the last thing we need, another International Competition.Players will start getting 'injuries' rarther than play in UEFAs latest competition in addition to the European Championship,World Cup and Friendly Internationals.Clubs should be permitted to with hold players from Friendly Internationals if this Nations League goes ahead.
I know I got my calculation wrong but the principle is the same.
Forget this cash cow for the bent overseers of European football and forget seeding.10 random out the hat groups of 5, best 2 from each group plus 4 best 3rds qualify for the Euros. That mixes teams up and will force some teams in some groups to take it serious. If the big teams think they should be there, earn it.
I've spotted a potential flaw in the new timeline for the Euro '20 qualifiers. If the playoffs are in March '20 and the tournament starts in June, that gives supporters under 3 months to book tickets, flights and accommodation for flitting all over Europe for their teams' matches. And if they delay the full draw until after the playoffs, it'll affect all the other teams' fans too.Oops...
This is a political tournament, the Euro luvvies are struggling to create a Federal Europe so they try to do it with this stupid idea. How many will actually be interested in it
I very much doubt this competition will be taken seriously. A good chance to play the reserves
Don't fancy Scotland's chances.
Doesnt matter who England get they still wont get passed the last 24 😄
To me replacing friendlies with more meaningful games is a positive. The teams in each league rarely play each other in a competitive game outside of finals. Yes the format has queries but the tournament is a good idea. I wouldn’t worry too much about nations deliberately losing. If an established nation drops to D, the manager will be gone by the next tournament.
It lacks logic just team from league A and B should qualify.
Giggs in talks with Scholes to join the Welsh coaching staff, seems Wales are getting used by some of the "class of 92" to cut their managerial/coaching teeth, Wales are taking a big chance with these novices.Moyes destroyed Utd when he got rid of Fergie's backroom staff, Giggs could be on the verge of doing similar with Wales, stability is needed after Coleman leaving.
If your a poorer side where is the incentive to not get yourself deliberately relegated to league D to give yourself an easy opportunity to qualify in four years time?If I was Scotland manager id be sending my team out there to lose so that next time round you get Gibraltar and San Marino.
