@1013 - £7.50 for digging a hole! You're one to complain about pampering.
I am sick and tired of these pampered princesses saying they need a break and they play too many games.Sorry but you get paid millions and millions of pounds for hardly working, they don't exactly get up and do 40-47 hours a week, try digging a hole for a couple of weeks getting paid £7.50 and hour then moan how tired you are.
The fatties on the couch will just watch box sets until the football returns.
Every manager at a top club in the Premier League.. we need a break, too many injuries, not a big enough squad, too many games. We will have a winter beak and the clubs will just take it as the opportunity to take their squad on holiday to play lucrative friendlies around the world.
you never know, this idea may go the same way as the ludicrous idea about Celtic & Rangers joining the premier league....many years ago !
Italy, Spain, and Germany have more midweek space as they do not have a League Cup competition. Like us, only France have 2 domestic cups. Their season schedule is most similar to England's, so see how they've created a break.
Good to see the FA does not have the bottle to let the PL make this decision on how it runs its business and just tell the TV companies to go take a hike. How did we ever come to this.
1005 ColdbevoHow can the same number of games be played in less time without cramming more games together before and after the break==Exactly. It's not just a winter break that's needed, it's a radical think about how many games in total are played. There are so many ways that the number of games can be reduced, many ideas already listed on here.It won't happen, television and FA greed
It seems to me HYS, the fans have spoken. The answer is NO. But then again, do you, BBC, have any influence on the EPL? I think not. Is this click bait for you? I think so.But at least it does show the fans frustration of how little we matter in the grand scheme of the EPL, owners/Countries of clubs. What they want, will happen. Nothing to do with us. Till we don't turn up.
How can the same number of games be played in less time without cramming more games together before and after the break. The number of games would need reducing and that means less clubs in the league which won’t happen.
So how does taking two weeks out of the season ease fixture congestion? Surely it means playing same number of games in even fewer weeks. Utter madness and ridiculous proposal.
Winter break... yeah, two weeks in Dubai playing friendlies
Does this mean the Saints will stay up longer?
Amuses me how every time VAR is mentioned someone pipes up "it will kill the soul of the game." The soul of football is already gone. Fans are paying for subjective rules, inconsistent officiating and ex player pundits who think strikers are "clever" for "winning" penalties through "simulation". football isn't a competitive sport anymore, it's a weekly entertainment program.
