MM. Has done a decent job at Ipswich. When an owner employs him you know what you are going to get, he appears to have stabilised the club, in fairness to him and the club it's probably the right time to leave. If he wants another job I'm sure he will get one. Ipswich fans, well Glenn hoddle.
Interesting that the majority of the highest rated comments are for MM, and so they should be. If it wasn't for MM our club would be dead and buried. Evans money has kept the club solvent and MM has kept us in the championship. Evans biggest mistake, sacking Jim Magilton. In the circumstances MM was the best man for the job, will the circumstances change for new man, possibly not. Good luck MM
The comments of McCarthy show precisely why he had to go. He is obstinate, and has a fractured relationship with the fans. I truly hope we get a progressive manager, who plays football the Ipswich way. Attack-minded, round pegs in round holes, good to watch, entertaining. All the things McCarthy hates. Just watch the crowds go up after he has departed (as long as its not McClaren!).
GOD NO, please NOT Steve McLaren!
The owner pumped £100 million into Ipswich over the last ten years for absolutely no return on investment. If he had invested it he could have expected to have made a return of about 7 to 9 million with no risk. In distancing himself and no recent investment it looks like Ipswich are going to be sold. They're going into a very long dark tunnel without headlights.

GodhelpusIt is never ok to abuse anyone, especially a managers family....how did you make this puzzling leap from my comments? And no, call me a purist but I never approved of the negative football when we got to the playoffs. Like I said, give me good football, that is how I measure success NOT promotion or relegation.
As another Wolves fan here, I also sympathise and understand Ipswich fans frustration with Mick. Granted he got us promotion, but nobody else at the time seemed to want it and we were ultimately gifted it. From then on, some of his signings were truly shocking, his selections and tactics bewildering. He was sacked 18 months too late and sadly our then owner had not a clue who to replace him with.
Ipswich 'supporters' need to wake up and smell the coffee...MM is a good manager who has done well with very limited resources...the Bobby Robson days will never come back...get real!
I would like to see MM go to Leeds and give it ago as we have been signing the most ridicules managers you can think of. Ipswich can whine about him but try some of our old managers and then you will understand he was way better. I hear Dave Hockerday is available.
MathewjdaviesSo those who call themselves fans of a club but constantly as a pack scream and abuse a manager who has done very well with such a mediocre club with a less than mediocre budget that's fine is it?Did you moan about the style of play when you got to the play offsNo you didn't but yet you was playing negative football then was you not?Its also okay for you to abuse his family
So during his time we haven't been relegated and even managed once to get into playoffs. But at what cost, dull boring football most of the time. You can count on one hand the number of memorable games in the last five years. Cups, forget them, he had a deliberate policy of not participating. As for his public relations skills, he just doesnt have any. Anyway MM, thanks good luck and goodbye.
