If it doesn't work out for Gerrard, then his managerial career could well be over before its started. I personally think it's too much of gamble. It smacks of a decision made by people who just don't understand the enormity of being an Old Firm manager. He'll have no time to find his feet as instant success will be demanded.
Possibly their third, after Paul le Glen & Pedro Caixinha. They did well, didn’t they?
@825Gerrard would actually be Rangers' second Catholic manager. Do try to keep up.
Untried and untested at any level , would make this a brave appointment for both Stevo and the Gers.Liverpool and Glasgow have the same economic and social history and love of the game. The local accents and dialects are also very similar .Bearsden and Formby are very nice too.Brendan and Stevo are old mates, so this will make the Old firm match more like a friendly.Nice!
Over 45,000 season tickets sold last season, do you think that SG's appointment would encourage that many to renew?
When Celtic appointed the then untried Neil Lennon was there the same negativity?
SG ? Seriously? A roman catholic manager for the new club? No way he would be accepted.
If rangers do appoint him he will end up being the Ian Cathro of rangers. It would be a bad appoint for both as gerrard does not yet have the experience to manage a team and could end up ruining his career before it has started. It would be a step into the unknown for both i think rangers should learn from hearts mistake and appoint sone one with experience trust me as a hears fan i know lol.
If Steven Gerard takes the Ibrox job then will both sets of "Old Firm" fans be singing You'll Never Walk Alone?
The fans have a "We deserve better" banner and Dave King waves his invisible "Stupid Is As Stupid Does" banner right back at them. If McCoist and The Magic Hat had brought in good youngsters from the outset there would be a very capable team of home grown talent challenging for titles and cups, instead they all pretended to be CL contenders and blew several fortunes. Shameful abuse of money.
Will Rangers be able to add Stevie G's Champions League win to their honours to be equal to Celtic's Lisbon Lions ?Perhaps swap for some of Rangers 50+ national league wins hence stars on shirts.
