"When we eventually get out to Russia". I think we'll have to qualify from the group 1st Ashley
Decent player, runs fast, not bad at free kicks but it is his decision making in front of goal which lets him down, often tries fancy things when an old fashioned low drive would be best. Maybe he will learn something training and maybe playing with Kane and could put in some half decent performances. Plays well for the team so more likely to play on the wing, maybe Sterling on the other side.
Can anyone kindly remind me exactly what Rashford has done to warrant such a a phrase as "he will set the world alight" lmao hes dont absolutely nothing. He cannot shoot, all he does is run like a headless chicken down the wing like most English wingers post Steve Mcmanaman.
No pressure then.....then again its Ashley Young giving us his wisdom!
And then we all woke up...
The World cup is in Russia.Stirling should have had an AK47 tattooed on his leg,not an American M16.
@441 Dave. The same can be said of Henderson and Lallana who would get no where near the England squad if they didn't play for Liverpool. The terraces is the closest Henderson and Lallana should be to the England team.
for all of the 4 games England will play yes maybe he might score 2.
@503: Nail on head sir/madam. That I think is the heart of the matter, creative players need freedom not shackles. Hopefully GS will know how to get the best from him and many others he has coached through the U21's and now the 1st team. Like many others I'm not expecting much but some flowing football and a pacy attack for me is better than what we've had for a while is good for the future
People who are complaining about Jose stifling Rashford are missing the point. If Rashford had inspired any confidence during the early stages of this season, perhaps we wouldn't have gone all out for Sanchez in January. Rashford had several chances to impress last season and didn't take them. I really hope he does have good world cup and forces himself into the Utd starting line up next season
Rashford obviously has talent. When he first hit the scene all he had in his head was a passion to play and to score. Now the pressure is showing and he's over thinking and trying too hard (I blame the coaches and Jose for not fostering his natural ability and trying to make him something he isn't). Maybe he'll have the freedom to rediscover this passion, and form, for England, but I doubt it.
Rashford can't even set the red half of Manchester alight, so hopefully he's been sandbagging for the last 2 years. As for England going far, I'd like it to be true but we might have to assume Southgate is just talking about the geographical distances.
Perhaps if Jose changed his boring style of play, Rashford might be able to show his real talent. Jose needs to change next season, or leave, because we dont want another season of boring football at united.
If he gets his move from Man U he could.
"He`ll set the world alight" Christ how big`s the World ?
