West Ham made their second signing in as many days with a £7m deal for Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Poland international, 33, moves to London Stadium on a three-year contract, just a day after the Hammers signed defender Issa Diop for £22m.

Fabianski, who moved to Wales from Arsenal in 2014, told Swansea he wanted to leave the Liberty Stadium after their relegation to the Championship.

"I'm really happy to be joining at such an exciting time here," he said.

"I will do my best on and off the pitch to help the team to achieve the best results possible and can't wait to start this new chapter of my career."

Fabianski, who was Swansea's Player of the Year last season, is in Russia for the World Cup but did not feature in Poland's 2-1 defeat by Senegal on Tuesday.

The Swans last week turned down a bid from West Ham for him.

The Hammers had been searching for a replacement for Joe Hart following the end of his loan spell from Premier League champions Manchester City.

"Lukasz is an experienced and established Premier League goalkeeper, with great quality that he has shown at both domestic and international level," said West Ham director of football Mario Husillos.

"He fits perfectly the mould of the modern goalkeeper, with excellent agility, presence and distribution, and will bring strong competition to the position."

    Fabianski is a solid goalkeeper and a great shot stopper. You'd struggle to find anyone at Arsenal that didn't appreciate what he did with us and his role in ending our trophy drought.

    He's been in great form at Swansea and will be a marked improvement for West Ham, who seem to be building a more balanced squad under Pellegrini.

    Whu season ticket holder here- happy with this. Love Adrian but club seem to want to move on. Fabianski seems to have matured with less mistakes in him,a good shot stopper and Swansea player of the season . Whu appear to be taking a transfer window more seriously than in the past-finally!!

    That’s a great signing for West Ham; for at least 3 years you are sorted.
    I was hoping we’d have gone for him, Swansea fans making him their POTS confirms my outsider’s view.

    So 25m for Payet , and now 1 year later with these two its upto 29m spent (or £4m net). Where does the money go at WHU afterall there are no Stadium related expenses?

    Good player and not a ridiculous price, but West Ham consistently keep paying over the odds for players. £7m is a lot for a 33 year old when you consider Newcastle have gotten Dubravka in for £4m.

    to be honest, Arsenal shouldnt have bothered casting him off because he's as good as Czech is these days...

    this is a good signing for WHU, he's an assured keeper, experienced and good quality....better than the preening Joe Hart for sure

    I'd be more worried about the state of Arsenal than watching other teams signings, Arsenal is a joke these days

    West Ham are in serious trouble now then. If this is the limit of their aspirations there was no point in getting rid of Moyes, they may as well have put him in goal. The question they did not ask themselves was clearly why was Fabianski at Swansea? You couldn't make it up, as a comedy script goes this is a winner (unlike West Ham).

    Pretty decent signing, uninspiring to say the least.

    To be honest I retract my first statement, not a very decent signing at all.
