Barrow have taken their total of summer signings to five by bringing in ex-Leicester City and Motherwell striker Jacob Blyth, as well as former Barnsley and Chesterfield midfielder Josh Kay.

The signing of Blyth, 25, by new Bluebirds boss Ian Evatt follows the recruitment of forwards Jack Hindle and Astley Mulholland from Colwyn Bay.

Kay, 21, has also been on the books at AFC Fylde and Tranmere Rovers.

Barrow's first summer signing was Ashton United defender Josh Granite.

Blyth and Kay are the first two signings made by Evatt for the National League club.

Blyth played non-league football before his move to Leicester in 2012, and had loan spells with Burton Albion, Notts County, Northampton Town, Cambridge United and Blackpool during his four years on the Foxes' books.

He joined Motherwell in June 2016, before leaving 14 months later after suffering a range of injuries - Achilles, thigh, ankle and foot - while with the Scottish Premier League side.
