Oh for goodness sake you lot, lighten up!
Been waiting for a variation on that score for years. Is interesting though how patronising some people are as far as humour goes.'You have no sense of humour if Morecambe and wise aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread'.It was very clever & all that but (& I know I have a sense of humour before someone tells me I don't) I never laughed at the pair of them once.
This just confirms how little respect the BBC has for Scottish football.
What about a late result from the North East Scottish League (to be read in Doric): Fyvie: echt, Echt: fiveScotland The What? might have came up with that one.
it is meant to be East Fife 5 Forfar 4 (East Fife Fan who was at the game BTW!) There will be a complete uproar about this at Bayview but not surprised the Beeb got it the wrong way round! we'll have a real HYS when the score is correct the next time!!!
Given the club's correct name is Forfar Athletic, this 'joke' has never worked.
@ 142 David Howard. Attendance figure of 420 is correct. As in England, the League Cup has been devalued and ignored in recent years (at least up until the later stages) . Also, you have to bear in mind that Scotland has about an 11th of the population of England but nearly half the number of senior football teams. Non-league Telford has a population of 170,000 .... Forfar has only 14,000.
lee evans is the best and funny comedian discussion over (queue haters)
Similar scores HAVE been done by other comedians such as The Two Ronnies, Cannon & Ball and The Chuckle Brothers but the original was by Eric Morecambe!
Who’s David Chapels?
It was Cannon and Ball and the score was East Fife 3 Forfar 2.
Isn't it "Forfar four, East Fife five"?
Never mind the quality - feel the comedy...
Does the BBC now let any plonker be its sports reporter? The tongue-twister was:Forfar 4 Eat Fife 5Please teach them something, anything, before you let them loose on this site.
142 David Howard I am afraid that is probably correct. That is around the mark for Scottish divisions 1&2
It's so far to Forfar that I have to drive my car to Forfar to buy a brand new sofa but so far in Forfar I canna find a sofa but I did find a luffa and that is the truth'a!
Now that this wondrous event has come to pass, does that mean that football has achieved its crowning purpose in human existence and can cease forever, or should it hold out for the higher state of nirvana represented by 'East Fife 5, Forfar 4'?
What is Sarri the new Chelsea boss doing in the photo?
124. Posted by Nancy Spain "I can confidently predict a doubling of season ticket sales for both sides now."So how does that work? Are people from Fife reading this article and saying to themselves "wow, I didn't know we had a football team, maybe I should get a season ticket".I don't think so.
