Hartlepool sealed their first National League victory of the season with this win against Maidenhead at Victoria Park.
Striker Luke James headed over the best chance of a goalless first-half but put Pools ahead two minutes after the restart with a near-post header.
Liam Noble rattled the crossbar with an effort before Nicky Featherstone doubled Hartlepool's advantage with a cool finish which left visiting goalkeeper Carl Pentney stranded.
Alan Massey pulled a goal back after heading home James Comley's corner but it proved to be a consolation as Hartlepool held on for victory.
