Match ends, Cardiff City 1, Norwich City 3.
Cardiff City remain winless this season after a dismal home defeat by Norwich City in the Carabao Cup second round.
Dennis Srbeny's thumping strike gave the Championship visitors a 1-0 half-time lead.
Srbeny nodded in his second and Max Aarons added a third against their woeful Premier League opponents.
Bruno Ecuele Manga headed Cardiff's first goal of the season but their belated attacking efforts proved to be in vain.
Neil Warnock's side started this match as the only one of the 92 Premier League and Football League sides who had failed to score so far in this campaign.
But even after making nine changes from Saturday's 0-0 draw at Huddersfield, the Bluebirds were still expected to prevail against the Canaries, who themselves made 10 alterations from the weekend's 3-0 home defeat by Leeds United.
That was not the case in a first half in which Norwich created the better chances and deservedly led.
After two of his shots were saved by Cardiff's debutant goalkeeper Alex Smithies, Srbeny found himself just inside the penalty area and let fly with a left-footed effort which arrowed into the top far corner.
It was a comfortable evening for Norwich, at odds with a testing start to the season which has seen them lose three of their first five Championship fixtures.
Their task was made easier here by their charitable hosts, whose defending was particularly generous for the second goal, with Marco Stiepermann strolling to the byeline and clipping his cross to the back post, where Srbeny nodded in.
Aarons hooked in Norwich's third to darken the mood for the majority of an already glum crowd of only 6,953 at Cardiff City Stadium.
But they had reason to cheer - albeit with a hint of irony - when Ecuele Manga headed in from a corner to reduce Cardiff's deficit and end his side's barren spell in front of goal.
Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock said:
"It showed that quite a lot of the lads needed games, we were a little bit off the pace. Obviously you need games.
"But it's opened my eyes to team selection for Sunday [against Arsenal] and that's what it was meant to be.
"The only major decision I had in my mind for Sunday I won't be doing that now... I more or less know what my team's going to be and tonight didn't put me off that, 10 out of 11 players I've got that in my mind."
Norwich City manager Daniel Farke said:
"I'm pleased, an away win at a Premier League game is a great result and an outstanding performance.
"We should be here with more points in the league, but we just need to keep performing like we did here."
