England Under-19 forward Jadon Sancho helped 10-man Borussia Dortmund salvage a point at Hoffenheim.

Sancho, 18, came on after an hour with Dortmund trailing to Joelinton's goal.

It went from bad to worse for the visitors when French defender Abdou Diallo was sent off in the 76th minute.

However, Dortmund secured a point to remain unbeaten thanks to Christian Pulisic's first-time finish - the United States forward's second goal in as many games.

Eighteen-year-old English forward Reiss Nelson, who is on a season-long loan at Hoffenheim from Arsenal, was an unused substitute.

Sancho moved to Dortmund from Manchester City for £8m in the summer of 2017.

Elsewhere, Hertha Berlin went to the top of the table with a 4-2 home win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Vedad Ibisevic scored twice for Hertha, who had trailed to a penalty scored by Thorgan Hazard, brother of Chelsea's Eden.

Augsburg came back from 2-0 down at home to Werder Bremen only to lose 3-2, former Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen scoring the winner.

Nuremberg beat Hannover 2-0 and Freiburg secured their first win of the season, 3-1 at Wolfsburg.
