Believing yourself inherently different and superior is arrogance. The essential position of RM fans is that this club is special, unique, to be held in awe. Madrid nunca se rinde, El espiritu de Juanito etc.In fact, RM is just a football club. Its fans wave hankies at its own players in CL matches, it has a crisis every year, destroys careers, never says "Thank you" or knows how to lose.
If that's what you've got from 15 years there, I'd hazard a guess that you've been spending too much time in Triskel. The fact is, all football fans will say their rivals are this that and the other, but that doesn't mean it's true. You might have the side of the haters, of whom there are many, but that doesn't mean Madridistas are arrogant. Striving to be the best is not arrogance.
@30 Sorry for the delay in replying, was out in El Escorial having aperativo. Correct, I after 15 years here I understand nothing, not the language (s) nor the history nor the politics nor the regional differences of the country. So on that score, I could easily be a Madridista and hide my ignorance by joining a cult of true believers.I like football and dislike fanatics. On Bale we can agree
@23 - so, Bale's 3 goals in the entire campaign "won the last European cup for RM"? Nothing to do with the 15 ronaldo scored, or the 5 Benzema scored? It was all about Bale's 7 substitute appearances and his 3 goals. I'm sure bale would be better in England, but he isn't a serious contender for balon dors, nor the level real Madrid players need to be. Bale
Rubbish. Complete rubbish. Madridistas conduct themselves with dignity and are as passionate about their team as any other fan. You clearly haven't learnt anything of the culture if you think they're racist haters of barsa. On hatred, the cules have much more for Madridistas than the other direction. Madrid is replete with barsa shirts. Not the same in las ramblas.
Bale will go down as the worst RM player in history.
@25 Who would go live in a place just to be negative about the local team? In fact, when I came to work in Madrid I was a RM follower, but the blind arrogance of RM fans, their sense of entitlement is unacceptable to a neutral. Man Utd or Arsenal have nothing on it. Not to mention the semi racist hatred of Barca, the team of the century. Senior management disfunction (FP) is well-documented,
@Carol-1956 .If you read the full article it says that the goal was initially given as an own goal and then subsequently awarded to the bloke with the long name.
You can understand the resentment of an HYS on foreign football. Plenty of UK football fans who support teams outside the Premier League who would love an opportunity to discuss their weekend games.25 posts for supposedly the biggest supported club in the world. You 25 are in the most exclusive club in the world.Stanley would get more than 25.Sack this HYS off, open a lower league one.
"Real Madrid grabbed a fortunate victory..."Whether it was fortunate or not, it is still three points.
Bale + Mourinho = European champions. Who wants it?
Usual anti Bale comments as expected. Don't forget he won the last European cup for RM, but then, oh yeaaah he's not English. Now it all makes sense.
At the top it says Paixão de Oliveira Júnior scored the first goal, yet the article states it was an own goal. So what was it?
the Madrid propaganda rag Marca today is full of resentment at PSG and Man City, not entirely unwarranted, but it's amusing how Real just don't like having to compete in a world with other teams using the same dubious business methods.on a side parting, not sure about Ramos's 1930s German hairdo.. hopefully it's just the camera angle.
