Boreham Wood 0-1 Maidstone United

Ten-man Maidstone ended a run of five straight league defeats with a heroic win at Boreham Wood.

Jake Cassidy got the visitors off to the perfect start when he headed in George McLennan's pinpoint cross at the back post after just seven minutes.

Boreham fought back though and full-back Ricky Shakes hit the crossbar. Charlie Wassmer also cleared off the line from Bradley Ash.

Maidstone coped admirably under the pressure until Dan Wishart was sent off midway through the second half in an off-the ball incident.

The away side were nearly broken down when Ross Worner fouled substitute Justin Shaibu in the box.

The Stones keeper however redeemed himself spectacularly with a parry from Kieran Murtagh's spot-kick.
