None of you have put your finger on the reason. There are players whose agents and image put them in a team. Follow the money, it's about the money!
I always thought he was a really good player, that's why. Simple. He is technically excellent, bags of energy, a bit of attitude and could be astute and creative too. Perhaps he is no Messi or Suarez, but as the article says, in a squad of 18 for a long season, he'd be fantastic for second-tier games, or coming off the bench, or to overload opponents who try and shut up shop.
This guy is a top class player. The biggest surprise is that he's not been a bigger club since leaving Milan. King Henrik he's not, but it's not the big deal people are making out. I'd have him in my team ahead of the overrated Vidal any day.
They have signed Thomas Gravesen too lol
Boateng is an average player going to a great club to fill spaces when injuries etc kick in. PROBLEM?
What has happened to Barcelona famous youth set up whereby a lot of their players came though academy, (apart from the odd player they would buy).
Well did not seem to do very well last night and was sub'd. Valverde is making some strange signings lately...
Imagine comparing Boateng to Larsson, this is like comparing a Blackpool donkey to Rem Rum. Barca need a centre half, Pique wouldn't get a game for Blackpool either - his race is run amd that is why they will not win the Champions League.
For all the chatter.. if anyone saw Barca play against Madrid, the mentioned fears are true. A decent side can beat a Barcelona team minus Messi with ease.It shows the lack of quality youth team players coming into the fore. It probably is just a case of wage management.
Far from being a "cheapie" option, if anything it shows how overpriced most other players are!
If this was Real Madrid in their current league position, I would understand the headline, but all Barcelona are doing is adding a squad player who can be used as cover for injuries & suspensions as the season progresses. Nothing to see here, move on.
Balague is an exceptional journalist, commentator and writer but to compare Larsson with Boateng....?! Perhaps not. A squad player at VERY best.
Careful with money, with the exception of Neymar, they don't make much money on players they ship out, they have quality in their youth but they don't cash in properly when they sell them on. I doubt they will be able to sell Malcom at the price they paid nor for Coutihno/Dembele should they decide to sell them. Saying that the big earners will be retiring/let go over the next 5 seasons.
partialreserve filler A K bench warmer
These experts claiming Barcelona can't make a big money signing. .. were immediately proved wrong when they signed De Jong. More "experts" who make up stories and jump on a bandwagon
