@64 Iggy08It's down to a combination of things:Bad luck (having hit the woodwork umpteen times in the 1st half of the season)Poor (or downright corrupt) refereeing (which has probably cost us 10 or more pts)Basic schoolboy mistakes from our playersSome rather unusual & confusing team selections, tactics choices & substitutionsAnd yes, on occasion, superior quality opposition
A very welcome win which should make us safe for next season. we should reach 46-50 points, Newcastle 45, Brighton and Crystal Palace 41, Saints 37-40, Burnley 39, Cardiff 34 ( their run-in is horrific), Fulham 24 and Huddersfield might not win again and be left on 14pts. So it looks as though we will be in the PL next season ! Well done Eddie, - UTCIAD
Sorry Terriers, it looks like the two-year spell is over. Second season syndrome has hit them hard which is down to how good the opposition is this time around.
@55 Catos, Thank you, you’ve just cheered me up. There was me thinking how bad everything is having to watch Town every week and thinking nothing could be worse, and then up pops a Sadford City fan to put everything back in perspective. Enjoy L2 and hopefully the derby with Park Avenue in a couple of seasons.
Thought Huddersfield were a bit flat throughout. Never looked like scoring despite having a lot of possession.Good result for us, Wilson and Fraser seem to bring out the best in each other. Good place to visit for an away trip, close to the town centre, friendly fans happy to chat and two sets of supporters who follow their local teams. If Town do go down, I hope they bounce back soon.
Wilson will be at a bigger club in August, I can see him doing a real job for a top 6 team if any take a chance on him. Seems made for Chelsea but, I think he'd be decent for Liverpool too, pacey, strong and would be a good presser - better finisher than Firmino, less fragile than Sturridge, more consistent than Origi.Saying that I hope Brewster gets his chance next season, lad's a future star.
@58 original_koppite Ahh koppite, everyone's favourite y** still clinging onto your promotion place I notice.. Still, we both know that next season normal service will be resumed & Town will be collecting our usual 6pts off u (cos we also both know that your promotion dream ain't gonna happen - as per usual)Remind me, just how many millions have L**ds spent failing to go up yet again?
@55 CatosU need to let it go man, since that tackle, your club has sued our club, your player has sued our player, both clubs have been in the Premier League & everyone has kissed & made up but if u feel like that send Lewis O'Brien & Jack Payne back to us - let's see u avoid relegation to League 2 then?All that bitterness is not good for u man..Let. It. Go.#UTT
10. veganbeetle..Both clubs have a rich history, most of it is in the 4th div, which is where they would be had their rich owner not bought them a place in the PL, and the game will be the richer when they both return there.
@23They are copying chelsea
The dream is over for Huddersfield, now they have to hope they become another mid table championship team and not slide down the ladder like previously relegated teams
I'm a Bradford City fan. Some Bradford City fans don't like Leeds. I'm not like that - I support every team in Yorkshire apart from Huddersfield. Why? Our record signing at the time, Gordon Watson, was injured in a horror tackle by Town's Kevin Gray. Ironically his 1st game back from injury was as a sub v Huddersfield. All their fans sang 'You've only got 1 leg'. Pathetic, glad your going down :-)
Wilson lauded, with good reason, but King really impressive and sustainable. He is a great team player, and the team respond with sharing from his leadership. we are in good shape to be a player, not an "also ran" in the PL. A great window remaining this season to enjoy it.
T' Udders are finished
It wasn't good to watch today. Yes we're relegated . Tend to agree with Jonny Terrier go for the young players who show they want it. Good job Mooy was bald when he started at town. Pritchard also putting the yards in. No singing today. No signs up asking for shorts. No one waiting for players after match. Says it all really. Still renewed season ticket light at end of tunnel hopefully.
The biggest problem was when DW decided he had to play 3 centre-backs, 2 left-backs & 3 centre-mids at the start of the season. He didn't seem willing to play his 4231 & make players like Durm, Billing & Zanka earn their places at the expense of othersI don't blame Mounié at all, he's had next to no service & we haven't played to his strengthsNext season can't come soon enough for me #UTT
