Lee Johnson: Bristol City boss signs new four-year deal
Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson has signed a new four-year contract.
The 37-year-old guided the Robins to an eighth-placed finish in the Championship this season.
The former City midfielder took over at Ashton Gate in February 2016 and led them to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup in 2017-18.
Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol that negotiations over his new deal took "about seven minutes", adding that "our strength is in our stability".
"It was very, very simple for me right from the start because I've been quite vocal about wanting to stay," he said.
"I've made no secret of my ambitions - both personal and professional - but that ideally will be with Bristol City. This contract really cements that and shows everybody else it's not just words.
"I can't promise anything other than blood, sweat, tears and work rate, but at the same time I'm confident in the decision-making process and I believe in the players."
