Match ends, Walsall 2, Darlington 2.
Non-league Darlington scored a 97th-minute equaliser to earn an FA Cup first round replay with League Two strugglers Walsall.
Omar Holness fired home to give the National League North side the lead, and the Quakers looked set to be going through when Saddlers defender Dan Scarr was sent off for a second bookable offence.
But Walsall levelled when substitute Caolan Lavery poked home with four minutes left and then went in front in the last minute of normal time when on-loan Darlington keeper Liam Connell punched Alfie Bates' corner into his own net.
Darlington were reduced to 10 men themselves when Ben Hedley was shown a second yellow card.
But deep into stoppage time Joe Wheatley tucked in Osagi Bascome's free-kick from close range to earn the Quakers a replay.
Walsall, third from bottom of League Two, went into the game on the back of six successive defeats and having scored only five goals at home this season.
However, they rallied after falling behind but missed several chances before mounting their comeback.
Rory Gaffney fired wide from close range after Wes McDonald hit the bar with a shot from 25 yards, and Elijah Adebayo twice fired over from good positions.
But Darlington, 14th in National League North, also went close when Wheatley had a long-range effort tipped on to the bar by Saddlers keeper Jack Rose.
Wheatley, though, was to have the final say as his dramatic leveller put the Quakers into the second round draw for the first time since the former Football League club was reformed in 2012.
