Great to see new cars & follow testing. Last yr we had a fast Mclaren, neat handling Red Bull & tricky but quick Ferrari. It took a while for them to settle down & this year same but Mercedes being in the mix a little more too. Different tracks favour different cars, but there are some big changes due next year and I'll bet that when they come in we'll see merc battling right at the front.
Here we go again BBC, Hamilton, Hamilton. The highlight of yesterdays testing was Button’s fasted lap described by Webber as "strong" and "Incredible" by Massa. This was after Button had been side lined for 5 hours whilst a fuel pump was fixed. Yet what do we see on the BBC’s sports web front page a silly mug shot of a smirking 4th rate Hamilton. Unbiased reporting BBC O YEA
From both a Mclaren and Button fan I wish him the best of luck! Great British talent and his move will add another dimension to the sport hopefully bringing a team which for it's resources should be in the front pack. Double win really? Comments on this are ____. Wonder why Britain is going backwards? at least Lewis is taking a chance and trying to succeed. Far more than some!
"Target is to improve on last year", stating the obvious? Interesting to compare Rosberg to Hamilton this year. Maybe Rosberg's chance to shine with all the pressure on Hamilton.
Why do these comment threads always turn into a pro/against Hamilton argument. Benson hasn't even said anything horrible about him this time?
@208. I see. I was starting to suspect that VET was out to get you..."here Mark, you do the testin today. I have some business to take care of"
Some quicker laps coming now - JB top by 9/10ths from MW, Mclaren also consistently quicker over the longer runs than RB. Early days but Mclaren, RB, Lotus & Ferrari seem to be leading the way in early testing. Looks as if some have upped the ante tho - quickest time day 1 Jerez 2012 was a 1.19.8 - todays quickest is nearly a full second better.
@208@209Love the juxtaposition & the irony!

@206Yep! It was a poster called "R0n1n95i." He reported 36 comments of mine on one story alone. 60+ in total over a few articles until the BBC placed restrictions on his account i.e he can no longer use the report function. Personally, I think it was clearly worthy of him being banned. The mods didn't really help in instinctively referring these posts for "further consideration."
Looks like Merc finished for day due to wiring issues - still no timed laps from Mclaren either. Really is a slow start for some of the big boys.Pity we cant get the car to pit radio feeds - bet they would make interesting listening today.
@201 most of your comments I've seen over the last couple days are showing as "This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules". comments 163, 162, 154, 145, 128, 124 of this comment thread have all been removed but there are loads and loads more.Is someone out to get you?
@202 dont you feel proud you have just insulted a few million people.In other news where is the video from Jerez im enjoying the text but I want video
Given quick times at Jerez last year were around 1'17's we have seen nothing to interesting yet. Mclaren Fuel pump prob & Merc small fire dont mean a lot at this stage - the whole point on day 1 is to identify such issues & check systems.Be interesting to see if anyone dips in to the 1'16's by end of Jerez test - if so it might show real front runner as I think last years best was a '17.6
@202 Says the guy who continually slags off the best REAL drivers in F1 to try and justify his drivers poor ability in a car above the rest. In the SAME CAR Vettel would be left in the dust of at least 10 current F1 drivers.Classic Vettel fan IMO.
@198 Says the guy who can't even put a sentence together properly... Classic Hamilton fan IMO.
@200,Eh? Say what?
