Reliable Mercedes pleases Rosberg

Nico Rosberg says Mercedes' decision to skip the first pre-season testing to concentrate on developing their 2012 car has been vindicated by the W03's compact and reliable performances at final testing in Barcelona.

Rosberg, who has been staying in a motor home at the track in order to maximise testing time and contact with engineers, says the aim in 2012 must be "to continue to improve and progress" in order to close the gap on the front-running teams.

The German completed more laps than anyone else on day one in Barcelona and hands over driving duties to Michael Schumacher on day two of final testing.
