Ecclestone in Schumacher slip

F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone lets slip that Michael Schumacher will retire at the end of the season in a BBC interview a full month ahead of Thursday's official announcement.

The 43-year-old Mercedes driver denied at the time of Ecclestone's interview that any decision on his future had been made, but has now confirmed that he will retire for the second time and end an F1 career that began in 1991.

Lewis Hamilton is to replace the seven-time world champion at Mercedes from next year.
