To all SV fans and haters, make no mistake the kid can race, is fast and has the best car & like young drivers needs more maturity. But also, like many drivers, luck played a big deal @ Abu Dhabi. He also got lucky during his first WDC when Ferrari gave it to him. With some luck and a better machine FA would had been aiming for his 4th WDC now or maybe 5th. LH is great 2 and has mature plenty.
FA is the full package. He is on a donkey of a ride and still shows up after 55 laps behind the 1st and 2nd racer and at times gets to the front. He is like Bond, James Bond that keeps showing up after the dust had settled. If you can have 007 why call 009, 00Maybe or 00Nobody.
vettels car should not have been altered between qualy 3 and race
Kimi Raikonen is better than both of them , look what he has done with a mediocre car , its amazing to have that many points with the machine he has , hes a cut above the rest , Alonso and hamilton quite even , button quality , webber quality , Vettel well he is just a guy with an advantage over everyone else , still a talented driver but not any where close to Kimi !
Alonso is the fastest driver of his generation, and the complete package. The Ferrari has been a dog all year, and it's his pace and expertise that has seen him rise to second in the standings.
the only way Vettel could have been any more fortunate is if kimi and alonso crashed into eachother on the final lap

Vetel's comeback from the pit lane to podium is clear sign of how good he is!!! He is better than Alonso, period!
@126 dont think u can emphatically say that RB didnt have the fastest car in 1st half of season...vettel bahrain webber monaco and silverstone vettel dominated valencia until failure he was comfortably pole in canada he had the fastest car in germany but alonso benefited from wet quali...its just more obv now cos vettel needs a car to be between 0.5-1s quicker to take advantage imo
@129 I remember three incidences, and Webber was near all of them. I am not saying Webber was to blame, but he is turning into the Benny Hill of F1
@ 124There was a lot of stupid driving today I personally thought the perez incident was ridiculous he's completely off track then just drives into rg and expects him to not be there!!! Indeed those midfield drivers helped sv a lot!!
116Not at all. I'm merely responding to posters who can only resort to screaming "racist!" when confronted with constructive criticism of their favourite driver.Britain has more individual WDCs and more collective WDC & WCC titles than any other nation. I certainly have no need to feel envious of any other nation in F1's history.
Vettel may or may not be the best driver at the moment. But without doubt he is very good and show great courage and detemination. I'm also impressed by his temperament - he doesn't let the carpers get him down (he's only winning because he's in the best car etc.) and I don't remember him criticising his rivals. Good bloke.
the results says it all....Vettel withh the most wins will be on top. Did RB have the best car during the 1st half of the championship? An emphatic NO. Did RB manage to stay in the points with Vettel? An outstandig yes. So how is Alonso better. Alonso is part of a team, if the team fails he fails & vise versa. This applies to RB and all other teams
Whatever your opinions of vetted are the young German deserves respect. Nearly 3 world champs now.....yes he was lucky today but he grabbed it with both hands! And came out fighting.kimi.......what a guy! The iceman rides again!
robmads i couldnt agree more to be 3rd from the pitlane is a good achievement and in terms of the championship its valuable but inevitably there'll be ones saying this proves vettel is a good driver all i'm saying is that the luck involved was unbelievable plus i dont think the midfield runners wanted to interfere in the title battle so they didnt put up a fight
why so negative towards eachother today??sv did a good drive and got a 3rd a bit of luck along the way but hey thats the way it goes???
shuey is god and you are a sod ,illegal manouvre ? haha did he not give him the place back and retook it, polystyrene? is it a driver fighting for the WDC or maclaren property? drove into senna? he was in the inside he had the racing line, senna clipped him , hello,,,, next time you watch f1 your backside should be on the couch and your head up and facing the TV not the other way round ,
Yes, there were 8 retirements, but most of them occurred behind Vettel (Rosberg, Karthikeyen, Grosjean, Webber, Pic). So he didn't really take an advantage from those retirements. He did actually lose out a little from Hamilton's retirements. If Hamilton hadn't retired, and the rest of the race happened as it turned out, Vettel would have lost fewer points compared to Alonso.
