@353Don't waste your time. Jim Clark & Jackie Stewart are just names to people like that.McLaren were helped by the surface on Sunday but they do seem to have made in roads, certainly to the mercs. Hopefully they will have made progress over the 3 weeks to China. As for the wdc, I think 5 wins will win it & only a fool would rule any of the top 5 teams out at this early stage.
@352 I know you were just kidding, but this wheelnut business is pretty baffling, especially when you have teams lower down the field getting it right.
@341 you are on dangerous territory if you are speaking derogatorily about how Scottish people talk. Insulting individual posters is one thing but an entire nation is good even for you rn.
i only jest @351
@345 I used to work at Tucker Fasteners who produced anodised aluminium rivets.
And on the LH thing. Being synical, on the side of his car in white letters is a sponsor who just happens to be Malaysian. I wonder why Mercedes did really well? They probably will do well in Germany.
339 adgwytc - I think the wheels themselves are made of aluminium-magnesium alloy, I wonder if the wheel nuts are the same.Though that would actually lower their melting point!I should probably know more about this, not like I studied Materials Science at university or anything...
I don't think JB blamed the mechanic directly. Much too nice to say that. JB is a team player and knows that all the team have to be pulling in the same direction to achieve results.
It's the story of JB's career. He seems to be a bad luck magnet, shame.
Seems to be just JB who looses wheels, seems like McLarens pit errors of last year are a continuation to this year.
@344, thank god for the internet lol
@339 Aluminium is anodised to make it's surface much harder and more resistant to heat and other elements. It is a non-transferable oxide layer produced by electrolysis in an acid bath.
@341An anthema for you I know but its other that generally decide if an argument is objective or not.Just saying it about yourself repeatedly does not make it true I'm afraid.
regarding the wheel nuts, im guessing they go on a risk/reward ratio. when mclaren get it right, theyre consistently top of the pit stop time sheets. but when they get it wrong, aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!!!!!!
