Sergio Perez has signed a new contract with Force India to drive for the Formula One team in 2015 and 2016.

Team co-owner Vijay Mallya had recently exercised an option on Perez's contract for next year and wanted to extend the deal for a further 12 months.

"I believe we can continue to achieve great things together in the future," Perez said. "I feel at home here."

The 24-year-old Mexican is currently 12th in the drivers' championship in his first season with Force India.

Mallya said: "He has a very bright future in Formula One and we will do our utmost to give him the equipment to match his talent."
