I'm not specifically a LH fan though it's difficult not to be provoked by the rot posted by his haters whatever they may be. He drives the fastest car as did Vettel when the RB was top so it's tricky to know how good LH is but, along with many if not all the racers on the grid and some of those queuing to get on the grid, he's certainly better than NR so it would be a travesty if NR won the title
Another factor is LH's form in proving brilliant at preserving his tyres. At Monaco not only did he outfox everybody by skipping the intermediate stint, singlehandedly buying one less stop when he stayed out on extremes to pit for Ultrasofts but he made the dry tyres last 47 laps In Canada LH did 45 laps on softs where lap length is 4.3km just like Austria where NR MV did 44 and 56 laps.
@206I saw an earlier (no idea if it was yours or nibs), but it said HAM was 1.5 secs a lap slower. If HAM thought he was on a 1 stop, he would drive slower. If he knew he was on a 2 stop, he would drive faster, hence he would be closer to ROS when the 2nd stop arrived and would of had more chance to leapfrog him.
@202 mafsmum"it will hurt Hamilton if someone as limited as Ros beats him to the title"This is the statement I was referring to in my post 201As for the car, yes, I'd agree, you need a capable car but as for 50% of drivers winning the WDC in a Merc, I think this is untrue if they had HAM as a teammate - unless factors such as team or mechanical failures skew the result i.e. 2016 WDC
But back to the original point. You wrongly tried to argue that LH didn't believe he was 1 stopping while the man himself said the complete opposite, not to mention that everybody watching the race knew he was on a 1 stopper until Merc tried to rob him.Mercedes did not need to pit him as proven by NR doing a 44 lap stint while LH only needed to do 5 more laps with 49. MV did 56
Nibs. Before pitting LH was 0.9-1.254 behind NR, add 1.2 slow stop pushes him 2.1-2.4 behind when rejoining track plus used slower tyres. They gave him an impossible task that was compounded by the fact that soft tyre required a lap to get up to temperatureYou want to talk about the undercut? NR had an 11 lap undercut, LH had 1 lap with multiple factors making the task impossible.
Nibs. Accumulative time is just pointing out botch job. 1.5+1.2=2.7 gain for NR for both stops. Anyway NR stays ahead even if LH doesn't make that error which is proven by DR being 1-1.2s behind LH before the error then just behind him after the error while NR retained a lead between 1.850-2.012 after pitting. Merc also cost LH 1.2 with slow pitstop and put him on used older tyres.
Regardless of the title result, many people just KNOW who the best driver is.
Tuskin. If Rosberg wins WDC then it proves that it was 90% the dominance of the car and 10% driver skill that wom him the title.Unless you believe that Rosberg is and has been the second best driver over that past 2 seasons and the best driver this season. If either Merc driver was driving for RBR or Ferrari over the past 3 seasons they would get within 80-100 points of the eventual winner.
@166. Posted by mafsmumThis is true only ifA) You have no idea what you're talking aboutB) You are biased and therefore are not capable of arriving at a logical and rational conclusion
