I've just tried to watch the race again and fell asleep half way through again. Anyone know if they managed any overtakes in the second half?
531 @FrankYeah, I seem to remember something like that being said. I think it was a documentary show on Ch4 called something like, The Formula one Greats. That's also probably the reason he's hired his daughter, though they both prefer to refute that's the case.
@520 Artemis: There's a documentary that was made during Williams' long gone halcyon days in which either #anker Williams himself or Patrick Head arrogantly states that they don't want drivers telling them what to do with the car. Well they've got exactly what they want in the pair they've contracted for 2018 as I doubt either of them would know what to do when it comes to sorting a car.
Having read all these blogs or threads the main issue seems to be overtaking the overdevelopement of F1 in general which includes engines and tyres etc and why Hamilton can't put his foot down and accelerate when he wants too. Channel 4 had the sense to show what motor racing should be like by showing the film based on the rivalry of two iconic characters James Hunt and Niki Lauda Rush this was F1
Mercedes: Can build a championship winning car, can't do simple maths to calculate time differences without a multi-million pound computer system. Something not quite right there.Surely they have at least one person who is smart enough to use pen and paper, to do simple time/speed/distance calculations... don't they? There's probably an app for that.
524. I've been quiet because I've been boozed up the whole weekend.Typing when you can't even make out the words on the screen doesn't seem to work funnily enough. As for Merc vs Ferrari I don't know why you are gloating. Ferrari are clearly a step behind at this point and they are the ones who brought upgrades to the race. If they don't improve quickly I think Merc will walk this one.
To answer the headline: Err no. It's still a procession and there'll be one dominant driver before long. True racing died a long time ago.
Either Im a bit stupid or lots of other people are. My understanding... Going through the pits is not quicker than the track. However pitting under vsc or sc is less of a loss than in normal conditions hence a gain for sv. I'm absolutely certain I'm correct but with so many people not getting it I'm questioning myself.
No racing = no point watching.Following the gossip and conjecture = jeez, get a hobby
Fantastic... no wonder Micheal has been quiet he’s been researching pointless facts that are in no way relevant to the events of the Australian GP other that they both have a pit lane!I don’t care who wins the WDC or Constructors WC anymore...It was priceless to see Hammy eating his own words... Open mouth and insert own foot... I kimi’s party was more fun 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
506. Posted by phirepower "Time to bin the left wing Eco engines, get back to the 1980's cheap normally aspirated 3.0 V8's and let them use as many engines as they like!" Weren't the 1980 the hay days of turbochargers after Renault's successes?
520 @ArtemisYou, know...! Even Force India are beating them now, who would have imagined, oooh, the shame!?
514. Last point on this. I never really understand how Hamilton was supposedly lucky with the SC being brought out after Giovinazzi crash if Vettel wasn't lucky with the VSC after Stroll retired. The VSC gave Vettel the opportunity to do the opposite of Hamilton under VSC conditions. He'd have stayed out for track position if Hamilton pit.
