@176. Posted by mr blue sky"...i said hopefully mclaren will be challenging for wins at the end of the year (season). that is when Boulliers performance should be evaluated."Even that may not be the right time. If McLaren did set their development targets too low then they may be stuck with an underperforming car until next season - it takes money and time to develop your way out of trouble.
@163. Posted by Adam"McLaren think they have it bad? Try being a Williams fan this season....."Try being a McLaren and Williams fan...I've had to hide all of my sharp objects, LOL!
@130. Posted by andyd".they are one of the all time greats of F1."So are Williams, both teams need to get their arses in gear!!
@2. theabbottif Toro Roso can get a decent result from the Honda engine=Ignore all the hyperbole about "Toro Rosso 4th with a Honda engine" in Bahrain, and see that it was - 2nd race - their 2nd engine already, and that while it might have got 4th place, it was still a second per lap slower than all the cars in frontAnd both RBR cars, and Raikonnen DNF'd. So a quite fortunate position
@183 mr blue skythere was a previous benson article about ferrari cheating, or not that has now disapeared=This one? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/43766081"Chinese Grand Prix latest: Ferrari deny breaking rules, plus more build-up" about their pit stop system, which led to the incident at Bahrain and the breaking of mechanic Francesco Cigorini's leg?
there was a previous benson article about ferrari cheating, or not that has now disapeared. you wrote in you own words that drag was a major contributing factor. noone has said how much is down to drag. it could be speed of the final corner with cold tyres, it could be air intake to the engine it could even be gearing, as boullier said "if it was just drag it would be easy to fix"
i am not sure why the posts were blocked perhaps because i did a two parter. strange my point was that benson does so much guessing and speculation and really focuses on the negative with specific people/teams and only seems to be positive about other people/teams. i was in no way offensive :)
This comment was removed because it broke the house rules. Explain
McLaren need to aspire to be like the car in my username-that is a good benchmark.
mr blue sky - still top optimistic even if it's hope . Engine wise Macca are better this year by some distance but chassis wise they are perhaps worse . The top 3 have bolted and won't be caught this year.
@169 please read what is written before responding, i said hopefully mclaren will be challenging for wins at the end of the year (season). that is when Boulliers performance should be evaluated. how can anyone judge Boullier based on the last 3 seasons with honda. Mclaren are massively improved this year on last, the points dont lie. opinions are one thing but facts are undisputable.
@17. Posted by james"Last season they blamed Honda...I think they might need to apologize to Honda..!!!"Apologise to Honda for what exactly?Hondas' own dyno testing showed how much down on power they were and the engine was hideously unreliable in the most public manner imaginable.Who should be apologising..?
"56. Posted by YaDancer ...Challenge the McClaren... and let's hope McClaren leadership..."Who the heck is McClaren?"58. Posted by Richard ...Maclaren will get it right again...."Who the heck is Maclaren? Seriously, if you don't know how to spell something, just look at the article...
What has Boullier achieved since he joined? Time for change.
They got rid of the one man who could have straightened them out. If they appoint Ron Dennis now, I will believe that they can turn it around.Love him or hate him, he will do a better job than anyone there..But with Zak Brown leading the way I don't have any faith sadly...
"157. Posted by mr blue sky on...it is one of the most respected and trusted news organisations in the world..."Not anymore it's not. Not since 2001, and if you're smart, you'll know why. It's just a propaganda mouthpiece these days, much the same as every other mainstream "news" provider.
