it's a shame vettel didn't at least score some points. he could have at least avoided the barrier and returned to the track.
mercedes ask bottas to hold stations after his failed attempt. has bottas ever demonstrated he could beat hamilton in the wet?team orders or not, bottas wasn't asked to give up his position to hamilton, like ferrari do.
@264 rondowriter... i have told you time and time again that hamilton is the best f1 driver ever simply because he consistently demonstrates complete authority over his car, fangio clark schumacher and the like haven't done so. if they have, then please show me a few clips. no one has ever done this without drs in the history of the sport.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzFDvZhntvQ
Team Orders? As many have said before, F1 is a team sport and about risk management. When VB started his move on Lewis my first thought was "Lewis will not yield and they could both go out". I don't like Team Orders but I do understand risk management.
A win next time round in Budapest for Kimi and Vettel either scoring low points or another DNF would be great for the title race as the points difference would be reduced to a point where team orders would be detrimental to both drivers, I wonder what Ferrari would do then? My guess would be continue to give Seb the advantages.Good result all round today
Great recovery drive from Lulu. He had a but of luck, but then again, he was due some.Lets hope the pendulum swings till the end of the season, and that it favours the Rec car.It was a no brainer to tell VB to hold station. Why would Merc risk them taking each other out when the 1-2 was handed to them, but it also shows that there is a No 2 driver policy in place. It was never in doubt.
Come along, they were clearly different reasons. Ferrari wanted to let Seb get a lead. Merc did not want their drivers to crash. Those reasons are fairly different.I'm happy to admit, I did not like it nonetheless. If there was a way it could be banned outright, I'd be in favour, but then you just end up with coded orders as we saw before.
Seb crashed at the very thought of Lewis closing in on him.Lewis 1 Seb 0 in the Mind Games Cup.
289 greatHayemakerDaddy?? I agree with sometimes not risking the cars crashing but they way you tried to make out its for different reasons than what Ferrari do it for just makes you look a bit dim if i'm honest
285ooo, look at 286. Your daddy agrees with me. Better back down asap.I don't like team orders. On the record. But I understand them.I like them least when there are no constructor championship points at stake. As there were in Merc's case, and were not in Ferraris.
Whatever reason Merc give for the team orders it still doesn't feel the right thing for them or any team to do from a sporting perspective. that said a great drive from LH in the conditions and from where he started. Expect Seb will try to find some way to damage a Merc or 2 at the next race, another "racing incident" possibly where he gets less of a sanction than others too.
@263 Oracle "Another lucky win"Lol. Pass around your bag of sour grapes please Oracle. There are plenty on here that need one.Lol. Very well done Lewis. Fantastic drive.
@278 greatHayemakerDon't get me wrong i agree with you but the point i was making is lots of people post on here slating Ferrari when they do it and they take great pleasure in taking the moral high ground by saying that no team orders exist at Merc. This just proves that both teams do the right thing and avoid their cars crashing into each other. Sadly this didn't stop Seb hitting a wall 😂
@278Let me get this clear. According to you, Ferrari used team orders to favour Seb but Mercedes did it for saftey reasons. You honestly couldn't make this place up. LOL.
273. Posted by The Oracle onAnother lucky win through others misfortune, __Yeah that luck of being able to drive his car in the wet better than others, if he was a boxer he'd get the luck of his opponents punches missing while his found his opponents jaw, or a golfer he'd have all the luck of his opponents ball missing the holes more than his
Ahah ahaha all you Lewis haters keep crying your tears the wet always separates the greats from all the rest, cream always rises to the top, we’ll done Lewis you absolute legend!Haters keep crying Lewis doesn’t care what you think keyboard warriors
Lewis is a fantastically skilful driver.Today's performance was breathtaking.Lewis is one of the greatest drivers ever especially after all that's happened this weekend.Joking apart, I am sorry for Seb. I would have liked to see him wheel to wheel with Lewis for the last few laps.Another day perhaps?Very, very well done Lewis.
"Love conquers All"That's the name of the debut album sorted. Unavailable at all good record stores. The second will be called "Still I Rise".
