Sean Quigley's seven points helped Fermanagh comfortably beat Louth in the Football League Division 3 opener.
After reaching the McKenna Cup semi-finals, Fermanagh went in as favourites against a Louth side weakened by a couple of high-profile retirements.
Quigley hit Fermanagh's first four points as they led 0-4 to 0-2 and they moved 0-9 to 0-5 ahead by the break.
Declan Byrne's fifth Louth point cut the margin to 0-10 to 0-7 but the home side hit the last six points.
The home side were leading 0-4 to 0-2 when Louth suffered a blow as one of their most talented younger players Eoin O'Connor was black carded.
A couple of Byrne points kept Louth in touch at 0-5 to 0-4 down but Fermanagh responded with four straight scores with Ryan Jones, Barry Mulrone and Quigley (two) on target.
Three more Byrne points on either side of the break left a kick of the ball between the sides at 0-10 to 0-7 but Louth wilted in the final quarter with Paul McCusker and Ruairi Corrigan also among the scorers.
