Donegal held on to their NHL Division 2B status with a 2-16 to 2-12 win over Tyrone in the relegation/promotion play-off replay at Celtic Park.
They laid the foundations in the opening half with goals from Ciaran Mathewson and Jack O'Loughlin.
Donegal led 2-8 to 0-7 at the break but Conor Grugan netted to spark a Tyrone fightback and Damien Casey equalised with a penalty.
Donegal fired over late points to secure a vital victory.
Mathewson caught the Red Hands cold with a goal right at the start, and O'Loughlin added a second midway through the half.
Lee Henderson and Sean McVeigh swept over a string of points from frees and play to give Donegal a 2-7 to 0-4 lead.
Conor Grugan and Padraig McHugh responded with Tyrone scores, but Donegal led comfortably at the interval.
Tyrone fought back from eight points down to earn a draw last week and they staged another spirited comeback.
Grogan fired in a goal and won the penalty that skipper Casey smashed to the net to level the scores at 2-9 each.
Donegal responded again, with McVeigh and Henderson both thumping over superb long range scores,
The Red Hands narrowed the gap to a single point going into the final five minutes through Gilmore and Grogan, but Donegal closed the game out with late points from Henderson, McVeigh and Ronan McDermott.
