Michael Hoey and Gareth Maybin both failed to progress from the European qualifier for The Open as they withdrew following their first rounds in the 36-hole event.
Hoey shot a level-par 69 on the new course at Sunningdale but with only 10 spots up for grabs, he opted to cut his losses at that point.
Maybin also withdrew after firing a 72 on Sunningdale's par 70 old course.
Paul McGinley missed out after hitting rounds of 68 and 69.
The former Ryder Cup star's two-under-par total was going to prove at least five shots too many.
Colin Montgomerie failed miserably to progress after hitting rounds of 71 and 74 which left him at the tail of the field.
Alexander Noren, the winner of the Wales Open on Sunday, progressed after firing a nine-under total which left him three shots behind leading qualifier Graeme Storm.
