Paul Cutler to play North of Ireland Strokeplay event
Paul Cutler is expected to be part of the field for the North of Ireland Strokeplay event at Galgorm Castle later this month on 22 and 23 August.
The lure of world amateur ranking points should attract a strong field.
For Walker Cup prospect Cutler, the tournament is likely to be one of his final outings as an amateur, following on from his superb Irish Open showing.
Cutler plans to turn professional after his expected Walker Cup appearance at Royal Aberdeen in September.
Ballymena player Dermot McElroy and holder Reeve Whitson are also among the Glagorm entries.
World ranking points will be on offer to the top 10 finishers.
This year's event has been upgraded to a 72-hole format with 36 holes taking place on Monday 22 August and the leading 40 and ties going through to Tuesday's final two rounds.
The Galgorm event has emerged to become one of the most important amateur events on the Irish calendar outside of the major Golfing Union of Ireland Championships.
In addition to his share of 21st place in Killarney, Portstewart player Cutler has won the West of Ireland and Irish Close Championship this year while he triumphed at the Lytham Trophy in 2010.
Talented youngster McElroy also played in last week's Irish Open while 2010 champion Whitson is a former winner of the Irish leg of the Nick Faldo Series.
