US PGA: Jamie Donaldson hopes to 'compete' in Atlanta

Jamie Donaldson will not prepare differently for his American major debut at the US PGA Championship.
The 35-year-old will begin his US PGA charge alongside American duo Robert Garrigus and Jeff Sorenson at 1410 BST on Thursday at Atlanta Athletic Club.
The Welsh golfer will play his second major at Johns Creek as he missed the cut at the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in 2006.
But Donaldson insists: "It's just another golf tournament."
Donaldson will be the only Welsh golfer at the 93rd US PGA Championship after being offered a place despite dropping from 98th to 102nd in the world.
"I'll prepare no different than any other tournament I've played," said Donaldson.
"You can't make it out it's some sort of new thing. Obviously it's a big event but I'll prepare exactly the same as I have done in all the other tournaments."
Donaldson has enjoyed five top ten finishes on the European Tour this year and hopes to impress in his first major in five years and final major of the year.
"I've not played much in America," admits Donaldson.
"I've done a bit of practice in America but I've not played many courses. It's fantastic my first tournament in America is an event as big as the US PGA.
"But I'd like to go over there and compete. I don't want to go over there and make up the numbers.
"I don't know much about the actual course layout. A few of the lads have said it's a very tough finish the last five holes. It will be a challenge.
"I'm just going to go over there and do everything I've been doing this year and see what happens."
