Colchester golfer Jamie Moul says earning a European Tour card has been a "long time coming".
Moul finished eighth on the Challenge Tour this year, enough to earn a place alongside the game's elite next season.
The 27-year-old told BBC Essex: "It feels great, it's been a long time coming, a little longer than I would have liked.
"I knew I could go out there and do it so it was just a matter of biding my time."
Moul had four top-five finishes this year, including a win at the Acaya Open in July, and earned just under £70,000 in prize money.
"I don't feel too over-awed by it. It's just a matter of getting my game in good shape and taking to it next season," he added.
"The Challenge Tour has been a great breeding ground for a lot of talented players, it's been a good learning curve."
