Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano stormed into a three-shot lead at the Singapore Open with a superb second-round 61 at Sentosa.
The 31-year-old picked up five birdies over the back nine to come in 10 under for the round, 15 under overall.
Italy's Edoardo Molinari and England's James Morrison lie three shots behind with one round left after the event was reduced to 54 holes after heavy rain.
Phil Mickelson is 11 off the pace after a double-bogey seven on the last.
The American had looked to be in contention after reeling off four birdies in five holes to move to six under but ended the day just one shot clear of the cut.
Fernandez-Castano admitted he was fortunate to escape the worst of the conditions on a stormy day.
His score of 61 would normally be a course record for the tournament but seasonal wet weather before the event led organisers to adopt "lift, clean and place" rules to protect the Tanjong and Serapong courses.
"I am thrilled... You don't shoot 10 under very often," Fernandez-Castano said.
"You don't really know how the suspensions are going to affect you but I was lucky because I hadn't teed off before yesterday's thunderstorm."
Briton Justin Rose is part of a group of five players sharing a tie for eighth place on eight under par.
