Jersey golfer Olivia Jordan-Higgins is targeting a top five place on America's Futures Tour after failing to qualify for the Ladies European Tour.

She failed to reach the second week of qualifying in Spain after missing the cut by one shot.

It means she will return to the US for 2012, hoping to better last year's 48th spot on the Futures Tour money list.

"One of my main goals is to finish top five so I can get my LPGA card and I still believe I can do that," she said.

Jordan-Higgins, 24, had been hoping to balance playing in Europe with a return to America, but was narrowly edged out of the Qualifying School tournament at La Manga.

"I started to feel the pressure and the short putts just start to become bigger and bigger," she told BBC Radio Jersey.

"Unfortunately I got stuck in a palm tree and there were five other balls up there and you have to be able to identify it.

"I couldn't and so I had to go back to the tee.

"Other than that I felt like I played well, I just missed a couple of putts, and that's how it ends.

"I'm disappointed but it's time to move on."
