Emily Taylor says she will relish the chance to play with Laura Davies during the Women's British Open at Hoylake.
Chorley amateur Taylor, who plays at Hillside Golf Club in Southport, will tee off alongside the four-time major winner at 12:10 BST on Thursday.
"She is a great ambassador for English golf and has so much experience," the 17-year-old told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I can't wait to play with her, learn from her and just watch her. It's going to be a fantastic experience."
Taylor, who became the English girls' champion in August, missed out on qualification for last year's event by two shots.
She has plans to turn professional in the next couple of years, and hopes a good performance this week will help her in her future career.
"It's something that I've been working towards all year," she said. "After coming so close last year it's really nice to get through and have a shot at playing.
"I've worked hard over this past year and I've had a really good year, so hopefully I can carry on my form.
"My goal is to just enjoy it and as long as I come away thinking I did the best that I could, I'll be happy.
"I play on a links course and I play in the wind quite a lot, so I'm hoping the wind picks up a lot. It's the kind of weather that us English players are used to."
