Mcllroy has taken a big risk with changing clubs, okay it was a lot of money, but at the level these guys play at not being as one with your clubs means missed cuts, this match play will be hard for him to win,not his sort of course,he will try the big second shot to the green and land in trouble,my tip is Poulter he is playing very well.
@22 why you hate the yanks for,you ask all the european based players who have set up home over there what they think.
ha, funny to see golf threats "being taken to china town mentally...wow" I need a holiday can i come too?? my money is on Rose.
@22 Steve42 - I'm not English but I agree entirely with your sentiemnts. Being from N'orn Ireland I obviously will have a soft spot for 'our' golfers but as a lifelong golfer from these wee shores I'm more than happy for any of the 'home' based players to win. Luke, maybe?
@ 16Im English so i would like to see any one of my countrymen thrash a Yank in the final. In fact i would like to see margin of victory to be 'DOG LICENSE' margin (7&6, older readers will get it!)
@16I want to see a final between the two best players of the week. If that happened to be Donald v Westwood I would be v. happy, regardless of the number of majors they have between them. You do write some rubbish. I do hope you enjoy screaming 'get in the hole' at your television set for six hours this evening.
All I know WCISHIS is that I would take you to china town in a game of golf. Mentally and phycially. Is Lee Westwood the greatest choker in history?
Looking forward to this years first 'big' tournament and hopefully of more European success. Love to see Poults win but maybe Tiger will get past his dislike for this course and come good.JM, last year you claimed to be of a more vintage age now claiming to be 17. Do you think that there are two of you in that mind of yours ?
I want to see Rose vs Poulter bearing in mind Westy and Luke are in the same half of the draw!I imagine the American audience and Jamesmathew would like to hoot and holler and drink too much weak lager following the Nike brand around the desert.
Who would people like to see in the final?Tiger v Rory (16 majors & 81 PGA titles in total)or Lee v Luke (7 PGA titles in total)
JM - don't you have some homework to do before your Home Economics cooking class today? Everyone else - seems to me Rory is either really hot or really cold. When he's on he's virtually uncatchable but in this format your one bad round can send you home. Conversely, you can play the 2nd best round of the day and still get dumped out. That's why this is so unpredictable and so much fun to watch
It would be nice to have 'news' on some of the other golfers, especially the home-grown talent.
Redmonkey. my mistake. I forgot about Sir Faldo. His last win was 1996. The year I was born. So in my life time there have been no English major winners? Even tho there are 4 majors a year (17yrs*4=68majors)Anyways I will be shouting for Lee & Luke this year in the majors. I feel so bad they may never win a major and will be forgotten in years to come.
Tiring isn't he Matt?! And factually incorrect as usual. Luke & Lee will win some tournaments between them this year. It's early days now; most Euros/RotW are slow out of the blocks in playing whereas their US counterparts have played quite a bit by this time. The reverse is true at the end of the year, hence why you see US players rising in the OWGR early on and Euros & RotW doing well later on!
@6.JM..Do you ever give up?! We get your point, and your personal issues, but give It a break lad! Luke & Lee have been disappointing - when they were #1, and yes, they've not won a major - get over It! They're still very good golfers. It seems like Nick has a new target - Rory! Well after all the "coaching" of Tiger, It's a refreshing change!!?
