Great story, thank you BBC for reporting on women's golf - looking forward to more of the same!
Fair play to her. She has more bottle than Lee Westwood or Luke Donald thats for sure. Will Lee ever win a major?
Just shows what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. She should be a role model for young girls, well done Stacey
This hasn't took off by any stretch of the imigination has It!!I thought It was a good blog BTW, Iain.I'm looking forward to this weeks golf, strong fields on both Euro & PGA!Not far off Augusta now, Tiger to win again at Bay Hill, or tweak some things ahead of Augusta!?Luke playing in Malaysia too. Not sure when Rory returns, probably one in Texas before?
Now this I enjoyed. Great read and added value to most folks golfing knowledge.Consequence is I shall be keeping an eye open for this fine young golfer on TV and talking about her in our Club
#6 Why are you even bothering to post with your sexist remark? Don't you have anything relevant or interesting to say?
Good blog, Iain,Stacy Lewis is a terrific golfer and an even better example to others. She has courage in abundance and character in spades.Hope that her success will make fellow Americans and the Europeans and Aussies on Tour realize that they too can succeed - though a few more events on the LPGA and Ladies European Tours would help.
@6 .... Very silly comment! I think most golf "fans" have an appreciation of all tours!! Another decent article, Iain. @5...Trev, well said! I wish her every success for the future!

Well done to Stacy Lewis - considering her surgery it's a wonder she can even play golf, let alone get to #1 in the world. A true champion and a great example to everyone.
@1 lol, not a golfer then?
No gender advantages? Just that men are much stronger, hit it miles further and because of that play on much much longer set up courses.
Well done Stacey. However, do feel that women's golf is rather dominated by the asian players and that this has hurt the popularity outside asia. @1 - nice thought but let's be realistic: average woman pro hits it 250-260. They can't compete with TW & Rmac - it's impossible. Not to mention the men's game is far more competitive so the standard is undoubtedly higher. Just the facts
I don't see why mens and womens golf is separated. I don't personally see any gender advantages
