Sticking my neck out and going for Charl for the Masters. Proven track record, great putter and on form. (Oops, that's just killed his chances then. :-( )
Blimey it's the Don and Matt show on here tonight.Matt I know your not sold on RF but I think he will come good, definately has more to his game than DJ. Like has been said though the masters will more than likely be won by the player with the hottest putter. I fancy Poulter to do well more so than Justin as Putting is probably not a strength for him. Also watch Louis was close last year.
@77:#58 - wasn't It?He's certainly going a bit "nude" on top - maybe he could borrow a bit of the boy wonders!? Quite a funny Nike ad that!Stewart Cink's "chrome dome" is really good though - especially when he takes his cap off and you see It in all its glory! The sun-tan is a sight to behold?!I expect the BBC articles/blogs to go viral next week - should be fun!
@: 73Credit where it's due, you kept the faith/stuck with "your" boy all through the dark/post-hydrant days when he was plumbing the depths at #57.OK we've had the swing makeover; when are we going to see the hair makeover or comb-over? ('cause Don247 is more hirsute than the "follically challenged" #1.)Or maybe Tiger's going to go "shaven dome" like his old pal Stewie?
TtTier @ 73:If it comes down to "you got one shot!", we all know that Tiger can do it .... and if his hot putting streak continues, it'll take a really good man to beat him.The Masters is usually won by the guy who is sinking all the putts ... on fast, tricky greens. Can Rosie do? I hope so, but it'll depend on holing those 5-footers and keeping his head and confidence level high.
@ 73:Trev, people doubted whether he'd ever win again 18 months ago! This year will be different in the majors. Just remember he was doing well in 3 of them whilst still in swing thoughts.@72:Are we both going for Hunter then!? SS is arguably the best putter - still - that's ever lived! TW always had his late Father as his guide. Most golfers offer tips to each other.
@ 71:The 16th just typified the difference between Tiger and the rest. There in the bunker, the chips appeared to be down; it was a case for RF "to step in".While RF "rinsed" it twice, Tiger "pured" it (Tiger-speak?!) Anyway TW was determined to go for the green and close it out.JR missed an eagle there minutes before; it could have made things trickier for TW's bunker shot.
Matt & Don: you pair are getting soooo cosy together. :PDon, as you know I'm not a huge TW fan (Matt does enough drooling over him for all of us) but he is the form player at the moment. Still doubt whether he can string four good rounds together at Augusta though. Do you think Rosie is in with a shout?
@67/69:(Yet another 600 seconds later)The "profanity" was somewhere in my last post. (Can you believe the depths this PC correctness is now beginning to plumb?)Anyway, just to be safe and keep the (eternal) peace between us both, I'm going for a Sean Foley win at the Masters.P.S. You're right, TW's unofficial putting coach deserves to land a big one ... he should be in the hunt!
@70:I'm not convinced with regards to RF! Definate talent though. Like you say, TW had a two shot lead - and had found the bunker on the 16th - and RF had split the fairway!TW didn't even need to go for the green, he did and cosied It down for a birdie!RF had a meltdown the last time he played with TW - final round - at Jack's event!
