Lee Westwood started the day five shots ahead of Mickelson, however after posting a round of 66, including four birdies on the last five holes Mickelson went on to claim his fifth major championship.

Westwood finished joint third alongside fellow Brit Ian Poulter and Australian Adam Scott.
