Gareth Maybin finishes with a 75 in South Africa

Gareth Maybin had five birdies and a double bogey in Thursday's round

Gareth Maybin struggled to a three-over-par 75 in Sunday's final round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

The Ballyclare player finished on two over for the tournament in South Africa after dropping three shots on the opening two holes.

Maybin carded a birdie at 12 and a bogey at the 18th.

Kevin Phelan (72) ended on two under with Damien McGrane (74) four over while Charl Schwartzel won by three shots on 17 under.

Maybin double-bogeyed the par-five second hole on Saturday and Sunday.

Belfast's Michael Hoey failed to complete his second round, withdrawing after the turn.

The 2014 European Tour event is being played at the Leopard Creek course in Malelane.
