McIlroy blames 'sloppy' short game after 74

Rory McIlroy is disappointed with his chipping and putting after shooting a three-over-par 74 in the first round of the Irish Open at Fota Island.

The world number six from Northern Ireland impressed in Wednesday's pro-am and was confident going into the tournament.

He was happy with his driving on Thursday morning but an erratic short game resulted six bogeys.
