Two-time major winner Angel Cabrera shot a final-round 64 to claim victory at the Greenbrier Classic.
The Argentine finished 16 under par to win by two shots from American George McNeill, whose final round of 61 included a hole in one at the eighth.
"I hit it very solidly," he said. "The work I've done has paid off."
Overnight leader Billy Hurley III finished tied fourth after a final-round 73, one shot adrift of Webb Simpson, who closed with a 63.
McNeill's hole in one was one of two during the final round as Bud Cauley holed his tee shot at the par-three 18th to finish in a tie for fourth on nine under alongside six other players, including 2011 US PGA champion Keegan Bradley.
McNeill's second place secured him a spot in the Open at Royal Liverpool this month, but he has pulled out of next week's John Deere Classic because of a family illness.
Hurley and fellow Americans Chris Stroud and Cameron Tringale also qualified for the Open as the leading four players among the top 12 not already exempt.
