Darren Clarke carded two double-bogeys in a five-over-par 77 as he missed the halfway cut at the Houston Open.
The Ryder Cup captain from Dungannon started with a 71 on Thursday and he moved to two under after a steady front nine in the second round.
But a poor back nine, including double-bogeys at his 13th and 15th holes, saw Clarke finish on four over and eight shots shy of the cut mark.
American Andrew Putman leads by one stroke on 12 under.
It is a fourth straight missed cut in the Hosuton Open for former Open champion Clarke.
Clarke will play in his 13th Masters next week alongside fellow Northern Ireland players Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell.
