Superb Spieth in control at Masters

Jordan Spieth fired a six-under-par 66 to set the clubhouse lead on 14 under after two rounds of the Masters.

The 21-year-old's score is a new record for 36 holes, with only fellow American Charley Hoffman, who hit a 68 to finish on nine under, within five shots.

Four-time major winner Ernie Els (72) is tied third on five under.

World number one Rory McIlroy, who began the day one under, is among the late starters, along with England's Paul Casey and Justin Rose.
