North of Ireland Amateur Champion Chris Selfridge has announced that he is to turn professional in May.
The 23-year-old, from the Moyola Park club in Castledawson, is completing his marketing and advertising studies at the University of Toldeo in the USA.
Selfridge said he would play on the European Challenge Tour this season
Last year he successfully defended his North of Ireland crown at Royal Portrush and in 2012 he won the Irish Close Championship.
"I have decided to turn professional immediately after I finish college next month," Selfridge said on Twitter.
"I am forever grateful to the Golfing Union of Ireland for all their help over the past eight years.
"I am very excited about what the future holds."
