Spain's Javier Colomo carded the first albatross on a par four in European Tour history in the inaugural Mauritius Open.
Colomo, 31, needed a birdie on his final hole, the 322-yard ninth, to make the halfway cut, and holed his tee shot for a two-under 69.
He said: "I hit an unbelievable driver, very high with a little cut."
Colomo is eight shots behind halfway leader Thorbjorn Olesen, who carded a second-round 68 to stand nine under.
The Dane, who has been out for three months following hand surgery, is one shot ahead of Sweden's Pelle Edberg, who managed a 66.
England's Matt Fitzpatrick and South African pair Thomas Aiken and Dean Burmester are a shot further back on seven under.
