Masters champion Jordan Spieth is tied in a four-way lead after the first round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational following a birdie on the last hole.

Spieth, Japan's Ryo Ishikawa and Americans Kevin Na and Boo Weekley top the leaderboard on six-under 64.

Unfazed by the three-hour rain delay, world number two Spieth recorded a blemish-free round of six birdies

"I'm comfortable enough hitting my nine, eight, seven irons into the green. They're so receptive," he said.

Weekley, who is suffering from a back injury, made six birdies in a bogey-free round, putting him in a promising position to win his second title at Colonial.

"I'm not really swinging at it real good right now because of my back," said Weekley. "We just tried to manage it knowing that we couldn't hit the full shots."
