Irish amateur Leona Maguire finished just one shot behind American Beth Allen, who claimed victory at the Ladies European Masters in Denham.
Maguire, 20, made a bogey on the last hole to end 11 under, one ahead of Nontaya Srisawang of Thailand.
Trish Johnson and Laura Davies were the highest-placed Britons in joint seventh, with Pamela Pretswell 11th.
Alex Peters slipped to joint 19th, having led after day two while Charley Hull, who had been second, came 41st.
Maguire said that misjudging the wind proved costly on the 18th, where her tee shot ran through the green into a bunker.
"I knew it was tight coming up 18 and we didn't really know where the wind was coming from," said Maguire, whose father Declan was on her bag.
"I thought it was downwind, dad thought it was into the wind and it was probably the wrong club off the tee, but I'm very proud of the way I played all day."
