Storms halted the first day's play at the US Women's Open with American Marina Alex and Australian Karrie Webb tied for the lead on four-under par.

Alex, 24, and seven-times major winner Webb, 40, both hit 66 at Pennsylvania's Lancaster Country Club before play ended with 55 players still to finish.

South Korea's world number one Inbee Park is on two-under after 14 holes.

England's Laura Davies shot an even-par round of 70, with compatriot Charlie Hull a further shot back.

World number three Stacey Lewis, of the US, carded a one-under par round of 69 - one shot ahead of New Zealand's Lydia Ko.
